Music Monday...Whitney Houston
I can't explain how sad I am over the news of the passing of Whitney Houston. Such a tragic loss. In my humble opinion, this woman has arguably the most amazing voice to ever be heard. Just yesterday I watched the video of her singing The National Anthem during The Gulf War. Anyone who has ever sung that song can tell you that is a deceptively hard song to sing. Even the best singers struggle with it. She sang that song with such ease and grace. She had not one grimace on her face, not one missed note or lyric. She actually almost wore a smirk on her face as if to say "I have this. I am confident in my ability to blow this song away." I LOVE it!
The above video is my all time favorite of hers. I remember watching it on MTV as a child (sorry mom) and wanting to be her. I wanted to sing like her. I wanted to dance and dress like her. I can recall singing my head off into a hairbrush to this song (again, sorry mom.) To this day, this song makes me smile like no other and I've shared many fun moments with girlfriends dancing to this. There is something about Whitney's music that just has that effect on people of all ages, races and cultures.
She will certainly be missed but I am certain her music will live on forever. Don't be surprised to see many more posts of her music in the following days. It's almost all I can think about these days.

Love this song!!! One of my favorites. I have already heard it five times today on my satalite radio station (48). The station is playing Whitney all day for right now as a tribute to her! I'm trying to talk McKenzie into singing it at her show choir's pops concert in May! This song reminds me of being with my friends during band camp. We couldn't believe how awesome this song was and sang it all the time.
