Music Monday/Carrie Underwood - Thank God For Hometowns

This is yet another song that I wish I would've written.  One of those songs that I can relate to each and every lyric. I can so relate to that feeling she speaks of of wanting to break out, to leave that town and never go back.  But as time passes, and life gets hard (or excruciating in some instances), it's that very same town you want to hide in until it all gets better.

Just this past Sunday I was at my hometown church after having been sick and in a brief hospital stay and I believe everyone in that church mentioned they had been praying for me.  They greeted me with hugs and meaningful looks and questions into how I was feeling.  I love that.  Very few places do you receive that care.

So, in that regard:  Thank God for hometowns...

Music Monday/Selah - How Deep The Father's Love For Us

Yesterday at my church, Hope Church (hopepres.com) we sang four worship songs as a congregation as we often do.  Yesterday, however, was one of those Sundays when you feel like each song sung is speaking directly to you, as if the entire service was written specifically for you.  This song as performed by one of my favorites here, was the final song yesterday and the words really grabbed me.  They spoke to me in such a special way and seemed to strike a chord and made me think even more of last Sunday and celebrating Easter.  How awesome is it what Jesus endured for us?  To think of the things I have done and DO on a regular basis, yet He loves me and YOU so dearly that He paid such a debt...one He did not owe.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this song.  You should also look it up on YouTube.  There are many artists that cover it and perhaps one you might prefer over this one.
